  2.  @nilesbutler8638  The US never had any interest in making Ukraine "a NATO base in striking distance of Moscow". That's just another of Russia's demented fantasies that they use to play the victim. Moscow is already "in striking distance" of NATO, if NATO actually had any desire to strike Moscow. Which they don't. Also, maybe anti-war Europeans should've considered sanctions against the US over the Iraq War.

  3.  @nilesbutler8638  Russia doesn't get to have "red lines" in Ukraine. We don't do "spheres of influence" anymore. And no, the EU association agreement did not include any provision for stationing Western troops in Ukraine.
