@thinktank3231 Trump is stupid. Why is that so hard to understand?

@sanniepstein4835 It's not a flu. And Trump's handling of this pandemic has been a disaster. He's still responding terribly even now.

@thinktank3231 What planet are you living on? Trump hasn't been good for the economy at all.

@thinktank3231 A Trump supporter pretending he knows anything about economics. Comical.

Brian Baff Why are people blaming Trump? Because it's his fault that nothing was done in America for the first three months of the pandemic. It's his fault that we still don't have anywhere near enough medical supplies or test kits.

Brian Baff Those aren't facts. Those are lies. "Mentioning" the virus in his SOTU is worthless. He still did nothing and we still have insufficient masks, ventilators, and other medical supplies to this day. We still don't have anywhere near enough test kits. Chinatown in San Francisco is not the same thing as China. And California is not in fact a hot spot for the virus. They've done better than most states in containing it. The snake oil peddling about hydroxychloroquine is something that Trump should be brought up on charges over. There remains not one shred of scientific evidence of its effectiveness.

Brian Baff That French "report" has been said by medical experts to have serious flaws in methodology, and it's also by a doctor who's previously had his license suspended for falsifying clinical trial results. And that Michigan rep? She thinks it helped her, but that doesn't make her correct. For all she knows it could've been any of the other drugs she was taken. Or it could've been none of them, and she just recovered naturally like the majority of people do. Remember, it's about 25% of coronavirus infections that result in severe illness, and from 1 to 10% (depending on availability of medical care) who die from it. This isn't like Ebola, where if you get infected you're probably going to die. The reason COVID is such a problem isn't that it's highly lethal, it's that it's highly contagious. Meaning that even a relatively small mortality rate results in a lot of deaths.

IIRC, Sweden found in their trials that hydroxychloroquine is less effective than placebo at treating coronavirus.

What Trump needs to do is stop obsessing over chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine and pretending it's a miracle cure, when there's yet to be any scientific evidence that it's effective at all in treating coronavirus. For example, Sweden's stopped using it because they've found it doesn't work and has bad side effects. https://www.newsweek.com/swedish-hospitals-chloroquine-covid-19-side-effects-1496368
