  1.  @adamc6371  The YF-17 wasn't designed for carriers, but the F/A-18 absolutely was. That's why the F/A-18 ended up being a good deal bigger than the YF-17.

  2. You can thank Donald Rumsfeld for the death of the Tomcat. If not for him it could easily still be going strong the same way the F-15 is.
