  1. The problem is that the F-16XL would be far more expensive than the F-16. The F-16XL would be a better aircraft than the regular F-16, but would it be enough better to make up for having fewer total planes? An F-16XL can carry twice as much payload, but what it can't do is be in 2 places at once.

  2. I have to wonder, would there be any market for a new F-16XL that incorporates all the improvements of the latest models like the F-16V Block 70 and F-21?

  3.  @fernarias  The same Congress who said that the USAF had to pick between the F-15E and F-16XL instead of buying both? Congress engages in that sort of penny-pinching all the time.
