I've long thought that the US should've adopted CV90 derivatives for both the "Mobile Protected Firepower" and Bradley replacement programs. Yet for some reason, it was never even in consideration for either role despite being what I'd consider the best IFV on the planet.

I'm going to guarantee you that the Griffin III will be the design selected for the XM30. Because with the Griffin II already being the M10 Booker, the Lynx derivative would need to be insanely superior for it to be worth sacrificing the logistics and maintenance advantage of a common chassis. And as much as I bag on General Dynamics Land Systems, I can't imagine them fucking up that badly.

Oh, and as for this 55 ton upper limit being the heaviest IFV you've heard of, there is (at least in prototype form) an IFV version of the Namer. Seeing as the basic Namer APC is a whopping 63.5 tons (as you'd expect since its hull is derived from the Merkava IV), the IFV version's unmanned turret with a 30mm autocannon, retractable Spike-MR launcher, and Trophy APS would add some more tons to that.
