  1. IIRC, it would be very difficult if not impossible to abolish the monarchy in Canada without straight-up scrapping your current constitution and enacting a new one. And there's certainly nowhere near enough republican sentiment to go that far. Basically, even if the Commonwealth broke up and the UK abolished its monarchy, King Charles would still be the King of Canada for the rest of his life.
