@shoeshinegirl101 No, indentured servitude was not slavery. Slavery was for life, while indentured servitude lasted for a maximum of 7 years. Indentured servants also received that status either to pay off debts or as punishment for a crime they were convicted of. And claiming that food stamps are similar to slavery is psychotic. Food stamps do not involve forcing people to work without pay, and torturing or murdering them if they refuse. There is literally no similarity at all between food stamps or any other welfare program and slavery.
