The irony is, if the junta would've waited for just one more year to invade, Britain's massive cuts to the Royal Navy would've rendered them unable to put up any fight to take back the islands once Argentina seized them. Also, the British would've actually benefited from such a scenario, because Thatcher's political career would've been destroyed when she had barely even begun her destruction of the working class.
