  1. What I'd like to know is, why did the British never even seem to even consider a floatplane fighter for use on the CAM ships? When you're flying against Fw 200s, it doesn't really matter if the floats reduce the fighter's performance. It's not as if a 4-engine bomber is going to be able to dogfight with you. And a floatplane seems like an obviously better solution than requiring the pilot to bail out and let his fighter crash into the ocean.
