  1. The Anglo-Iranian Oil Company that was central to both the 1941 invasion and the 1953 coup in Iran still exists. Its name now is BP.

  2. This wouldn't be the last time the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company spurred regime change in Iran. In 1953, it was at their instigation that MI6 and the CIA overthrew Iran's elected government to install Reza Shah's son, Mohammad Reza Shah, as an absolute monarch. The Anglo-Iranian Oil Company still exists, but now its name is BP.
