  6. No, the Senate did not say "not guilty". The Senate was 10 votes short of conviction. While the media has characterized this as "acquittal", the far more accurate way to describe it would be a hung jury.

The Constitution does not include anything that prevents a former President from being prosecuted for their acts in office. This notion that a former President can only be prosecuted if they were impeached by the House and removed by the Senate is nonsense without a shred of constitutional basis.
