@EveryoneWhoUsesThisTV And yet, it's a huge money-loser for Tesla.

@HALLish-jl5mo Even if it's ever possible to make genuinely self-driving cars, there's the separate question of whether governments will allow them on the roads.

@svetlinkarachorov4208 He really isn't, though. The Cybertruck is ludicrously overpriced, and would still be a terrible truck even at half the price.

@landcruiser801 "Al Teslas are exceptionally safe", you say. But the Cybertruck isn't. The Cybertruck can never be sold in the the EU because it doesn't meet their safety regulations. It's only because the United States has incredibly lax safety regulations that the Cybertruck is even legal. Putting cameras on an unsafe vehicle doesn't transform it into a safe vehicle. Having no dash displays in front of the steering wheel and instead having them all on a touchscreen to the side is also unsafe, because it takes the driver's eyes off the road. And as for "driving itself", that's also inherently unsafe at current levels of technology. Especially since Elon Musk insisted that FSD must use only cameras, with no other sensors, entirely because he thinks it's cooler that way. He says that's fine because human drivers use our eyes the same way. But no camera has ever been invented that can match the human eye for depth perception. And any self-driving car needs to be better than a human at "seeing" everything on the road, so there's absolutely no excuse for refusing to use a radar or lidar system.

It's pretty close to that. It's just that instead of a 10-year-old, it was a man-child in (at the time) his late 40s.

@alanlight7740 The price of the Clusterfuck isn't going to go down to half its current price. Musk will keep the price where it is, because he knows the only people who want a Cybertruck are his most devoted fanboys who are willing to pay the current price.

I would call the Cybertruck the Edsel of the 21st century, but that would be a massive insult to the Edsel.

@chanochrillesen4346 Sure, it's totally not Elon cooking the books to tout his pet project as "profitable" when it's clearly not. Everyone under that Musk fanboys see the Cybertruck as a bad joke.

@KillroyX99 Maybe you missed the part where that's completely irrelevant. It's still a Clusterfuck that's probably the worst truck ever made.
