  1.  @peaceoutbruh7085  Did they convert it to semi-auto? I was under the impression that they didn't bother, because the rate of fire is low enough you can easily tap the trigger and get a single shot.

  2. That's what the XM312 (19kg) and XM806 (18kg) were supposed to be, but both got cancelled. The XM312 was considered a failure, and the XM806 was cancelled to divert funding to the M2A1 program. The Army and Marines didn't want a wholesale replacement of the M2, because the lightweight .50 cals have about half its rate of fire.
