  1. Were there any advantages to the blow-forward concept? I mean, when Mannlicher introduced a blow-forward pistol in 1894, semi-auto pistols in general were in their infancy and nobody really knew what would work best. But 14 years later, blowback and recoil operation pretty well established as superior (hence Mannlicher ditching the system that he had invented), so why design a new blow-forward?
