  2. I guess single-action revolvers were probably declining in popularity by that point, since double-action revolvers with swing-open cylinders were commonplace in 1928. And when the SAA went back into production post-WW2, most buyers wanted the same gun they saw the heroes in Westerns using, rather than an improved version.
