I always thought it was a step backwards when Sweden switched from 6.5x55 to 7.62 NATO. Maybe not for machine guns, but for rifles anyway. Imagine a G3 in 6.5mm.

Not to mention that anybody who captures large amounts of your ammo is probably also capturing large amounts of your guns at the same time.

@teamcybr8375 Well in this case you'd need the gun as well, unless you already had an Astra or Star chambered for 9 Largo.

@TheNocturnalEvil Drive across the border to another country with the ammo and ship them from there? Schengen Area (the EU minus Ireland, plus Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland) has no border controls between its member states, so if you really wanted to it should be possible to take a trip to a more gun-friendly country like Switzerland.

Because it has a significantly smaller bullet. The case of 9x20 is longer, but the bullet is shorter and thus the overall length is shorter.

@harveynailbanger That refers to .38 ACP. A lot of the Spanish 9mm Largo pistols were specifically designed to also handle .38 ACP. Apparently .38 ACP was somewhat prevalent as a civilian caliber in Spain at the time. Whether .38 Super is also fine, I don't know.
