@undead.rising Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey did make up a "world leader" exemption to Twitter's rules to explain away Trump not being banned. But Dorsey is clearly also sympathetic to the alt-right in general. Unless Twitter ousts him as CEO (a legitimate possibility), he'd find a way to keep Trump's account intact.

@leehaiko3999 Funny how the people who talk the most about using their guns to protect against government tyranny always end up supporting wannabe-tyrant Trump.

The absolute last thing that Trump should want is for term limits to be repealed. Because that would allow Obama to run against him, and that's an election Trump loses in a landslide.

In the long run, whatever damage his lunatic followers cause will be less than the damage that would come from mainstreaming of the far-right. Any terrorist attacks by his cult would permanently discredit Trumpism and hopefully do the same to the Republican Party as a whole. Certainly that wouldn't be the end of conservatism in America (unfortunately). But would mean that a less extreme conservative party would need to rise up to replace the Republicans.

If Trump loses the 2020 election, his presidency ends at noon on January 20 , 2021. That happens regardless of whether Trump concedes. Also, what Trump would most likely do after losing the election is get on a private jet and fly to Russia to avoid the prosecutions that will come once he's out of office.

Unfortunately, there's no legal mechanism in place to do that. It would require a constitutional amendment to create such a mechanism.
