  1. The baffling part is that most of these Republican Senators aren't up for reelection until either 2024 or 2026. If they would vote for conviction, they would guarantee that Trump is a non-factor by that point. And with him gone from social media, even most of the outright cultists will have moved on and found other racists to worship by the time these clowns have to worry about reelection. So they've got nothing to gain by continuing to support Trump, and plenty to gain by convicting him. But they're too fucking cowardly to do it.
