  6. Yep, quite similar level of challenge. In one case you have have the laws of physics to contend with (to accelerate to, for example, 90% of lightspeed would require insane energy output). In the other, you have to deal with the biological fact that there's just very little genetic difference between human ethnic groups, so any "bioweapon" designed to target a particular group would almost certainly end up being infectious to all humans.

  9.  @robotron17  How are you going to make a bioweapon that targets an ethnic group visually? Because that's how we can qucikly tell the difference between Asians, Europeans, and Africans. But the thing is, those differences that seem so obvious on a visual level are miniscule at the genetic level. The differences are quite literally only skin deep. It would be enormously difficult at the very least for somebody to create a virus or bacteria that's deadly to one ethnic group while harmless to others.

  11. The actual biggest issue for that "ethnic bioweapon" concept that RFKook Jr is talking about probably isn't actually the genetic diversity within ethnic groups. It's the relative lack of genetic diversity within humans as a whole. Thus, if somebody did try to engineer a virus to only infect a particular ethnic group, it would almost certainly end up able to infect all humans. Because on a genetic level, there is just very little difference at all between humans of different "races".
