  1. "Lower house" doesn't mean being less powerful. In fact, lower houses in bicameral systems are more often than not more powerful than the upper houses. To an extent that's the case with the US Congress as well. For example, all federal spending must originate in the House of Representatives.

Ignorant people will assume that he must know what he's talking about, or else he wouldn't be so confident. There's a reason that the term "con artist" exists. "Con" is short for "confidence".

  5. You have to remember that half of the population is of below-average intelligence. So it's not remotely surprising that 40% would hold incredibly stupid policy positions.

  6. Trump won the presidency in 2016 and Republicans maintained control in the Senate despite getting significantly fewer votes. For example, in 2018 there were over 17.5 million more votes for Democratic Senate candidates than for Republican ones. But because the Senate is a fundamentally undemocratic institution, this resulted in Republicans actually gaining seats. If we actually had free and fair elections, where every vote was given equal value, Republicans would've been completely trounced in both 2016 and 2018. The reason Republicans hold the power they do is that the electoral system is rigged in their favor.

  9. I'm fine with continuing to have each state get the same number of Senators regardless of population. But two is the wrong number. I'm thinking a much better number of Senators for each state to have would be zero.
