  1. Remember, every previous special counsel or independent counsel in US history has been of the opposite party of the President whose administration they're investigating. Imagine if a Democrat had been appointed instead of Ken Starr for the investigations into Bill Clinton. There's not even a single Republican in America who would've found that to be acceptable. It would've been declared a whitewash before the investigation even started.
