@Republic4ever714 They have open and shut cases against Trump. Any prosecutor who's not petrified of being "the guy who prosecuted a (ex-)President" could bring these cases and convict him easily. The delays have been pure politics.

@proteusblack8913 The problem is, these delays don't actually increase the chances of getting it right. What they do is give Trump and his minions more time to continue their coup while they're outside of the prison cells they belong in.

@lalapo5304 No it's not the only way. Garland had no obligation to use this process. Just like he had no obligation to wait until after the midterms, since Trump wasn't a candidate in any of them. By bending over backwards to "avoid looking political", Garland has made himself hyper-political, giving special privileges to Republican criminals.

These endless delays don't reduce the chances of Trump getting away with his crimes, they increase it. Everything has been watertight for a long time now. It's been a slam-dunk case all along. At an absolute minimum, Garland's delays reflect a complete lack of urgency on his part. He doesn't seem to understand that Trump's coup attempt didn't end on January 6. It's still ongoing. That's why it's urgent that he be put in prison as soon as possible.
