  1. For the part about taxes, bear in mind that the poll asks people about their own personal tax rates, not about taxes in general. Unsurprisingly, for as long as Gallup has been doing this poll, only a tiny minority of respondents have wanted their own taxes to be increased. This says nothing about whether people want to see the rich get taxed more.
