Making an arbitrary distinction between "the states" and "the people" makes no sense, because a state is the people living in it. Thus, giving all states equal say in the Senate regardless of population simply means that some people are arbitrarily more important than others based solely on which state they live in.

  10.  @ricardocabeza6006 Yes, representation should be based either on districts of roughly equal population (as the House currently is), proportional representation via a nationwide vote, or some mix thereof. I didn't say that some states are arbitrarily more important under the current system, I said that some people are arbitrarily more important based on which state they're living in. The smaller the state you're in, the more your vote counts for in Senate and presidential elections.
