  1. Actually, it's not a 23% national sales tax that DeSantis supports. The "FairTax" people try to frame it as a 23% sales tax, but it's actually a 30% sales tax. Under the "FaixTax", every dollar spent would have 30 cents added for taxes. The people advocating for this system deceptively call that a 23% tax because those 30 cents in tax are 23% of the total $1.30 that you're paying. But as everyone knows, that's not how we describe any existing tax rates, including state sales taxes.
