  5. You got that reversed, santim2341. Spanish flu wasn't a result of soldiers returning from the war, it was a result of soldiers being sent to war. The very first identified cases happened at Fort Riley, Kansas. It was American soldiers who deployed in 1918 who spread the Spanish flu to Europe, and from there it spread to the rest of the world. The name "Spanish flu" comes because Spain was neutral and thus didn't have wartime censorship in place, and thus was the first nation to allow reporting of the flu pandemic. This gave the popular impression that Spain was where the pandemic had started, when it actually started in America. BTW, the Spanish flu pandemic was also made worse in America by the widespread refusal to wear masks. Sounds familiar, doesn't it? As for RFK Jr's bonkers claim that the Spanish flu was created through vaccine research? Nobody was researching a flu vaccine in 1918. In fact, nobody even knew yet that flu was caused by a virus. In 1918, flu was thought to be caused by bacterial infection. It wasn't until 1933 that the influenza virus was discovered. The first flu vaccine wasn't available until 1945. So I'd love to know what kind of vaccine research RFK Jr thinks could've created the Spanish flu.

  10. What vaccine research would that be, andy? In 1918, nobody even knew that flu was caused by a virus. It was universally believed to be a bacterial infection. Nobody was researching a flu vaccine until after the Spanish flu pandemic broke out. And since they thought it was caused by a bacteria, they were trying to vaccinate against what was then called "Bacillus influenzae" (now known as Haemophilus influenzae) instead of against the virus actually causing the disease. Since the bacteria actually had nothing to do with the flu, this did absolutely nothing. It wasn't until 1933 that the influenza A virus was discovered, and only then was research into an actual flu vaccine possible. The first flu vaccine became available in 1945.

  14. Calling those people in RFK Jr's roundtable "medical people" is a stretch. For example, Sherri Tenpenny and Joseph Mercola aren't even medical doctors. And they're both notorious quacks. It's not that they "don't buy into the current line of political/medical propaganda", it's that they're the ones peddling some truly loony propaganda. Tenpenny claims that COVID vaccines turn people into "transhumanist cyborgs" and that everyone who's vaccinated has "the equivalent of full-blown vaccine-induced immune suppressed AIDS" (there is of course, no such thing as vaccine-induced AIDS). And Mercola in addition to the anti-vaccine grift, has made a career out of selling fraudulent "dietary supplements".
