I agree you can think and unthink your way out of some of the anxiety but anxiety is a survival instinct so your brain feels threatened by something so like someone can give you an ugly look and your rational self is like this shouldn't make me anxious but another part of your brain is truly threatened

A lot of these therapists won't tell you this either but focusing on negative experiences was a survival mechanism for our ancestors things were not cushy like they are now

@Pensnmusic when you have trauma it sends your survival response system into overdrive which is why people can feel like a freak because they don't know why they feel so in danger then you can come off it but if you are repeatedly traumatized then good luck shutting down the overactive survival system

@emilynatsios9032 I took adhd meds called Vyvanse and it's a stimulant so technically anxiety could increase but when you think more clearly with prefrontal cortex you can also calm down
