@U..R..L Have you ever wondered why Israel was never officially given to the Palestinians, if there was so many Palestinians reciding in it long before 1948? Why was there never even a talk about it? Why did the world not vote for the Palestinians to have it? Could it be because the Palestinians didn't show any progress with the land while living in it? It was mostly a desert, no economic blooming and thriving, what exactly could the Palestinians have brought to the country/to the world, that they didn't bring through all the years they recided there? No efforts made to improve the land, and then you ask why the Jewish got it, who were known to turn everything they touched into gold and success!!!! The world knew that the Jews could and would make the land bloom and produce. I would have been proud to welcome the Jews and cooperate with them, and live peaceful in the land I still saw as my own but wich had a new owner since 1948. And knowing that the new owner originally came from that land, had roots there, was a huge plus. Brilliant idea of the Jews to build kibbutzes and invite people from worldwide to come and work in them for free, while getting free food and housing and experience and knowledge of The Land. That's how I, as a 19 year old Scandinavian, came in touch with Israel in the early 80's. At some point I became a pro-Palestinian in the 80's but something felt wrong, I started to study the history from different aspects and returned to love Israel and everything about it. A lot of mistakes WAS made in 1948, the Palestinians SHOULD have been treated better and with respect, but it DID happen, just like the Hiroshima bomb happened and like WW2 happened and the Holocaust happened, we have a dark history but we must be able to move on, learn from it, not dwell in it and not teach our children to revenge about what happened when their grandparents were children!!! MOVE ON.
