Now I don't understand; are Israeli Arabs not getting the same rights as the Jews? I thought they are???

@cupotkaable okay, I wish there would be more people demanding secular schools ONLY. Because that would be the beginning of WANTING to understand and respect each other. It has to be taught naturally from childhood, and both parts would have to learn Arabic and Hebrew fluently from first class. But we all know that if there would be a group trying to get this through; there would be a war between the radical religious people on both sides WITH the "normal" people on both sides. I am SO lucky to have been born in Scandinavia where our countries are not led by religion and fanatic religious people!

@projekcja I see, tell me; are there any Palestinians in the government? Are the Israeli Arabs in the governnment beeing heard enough? I mean about for example to getthe same amount of money for their schools?

@cupotkaable Thankyou for the explanation, it's very interesting, and I must say first of all that by having ONE school you absolutely don't have to kill a culture or language or traditions, you just have to be specific with valuing and celebrating each of the two or three religions that are the main religions in the country, so in Israel it would be the Jewish and the Muslim religion and tradition and cultures, every child would respect and look forward to celebrating his classmates religion without having to participate in the religious stuff like praying. Just learning about them in a positive way. As a history lesson. Imagine that generation of children grow up and sending their own kids to a similar school, after two or three generations there would be only respectful people living in Israel, with no need to "take over" or to feel they are better than the other one. After all these people all love and cherish the same country but they would learn to love it without the need of pushing the other one down because many would end up marrying one from the other culture and by time Jews and Muslims would be mixed peacefully and they would start talking about "imagine how our people used to fight each other"?! But the radical religious people who are allowed to have the last word in everything; would not allow this school-system EVER, because of their religion wich will stand in the way for peace for ever. Isn't it ironic how keeping a religion "clean" is more important than creating peace?!

@cupotkaable Sounds difficult yes, and okay, the free holidays would have to be only for the ones who belongs to the specific religion. But in Scandinavia the schools are secular, Muslims and Christians in same buildings and classrooms and Muslims beeing thought about Islam(we are forced to if there are more than a few Muslims in a school) and getting other food if there is pork on the menue. Celebrating both holidays, but of course many Muslims are forbidden by their parents to attend Christmas-celebrations. Sadly some schools leave out religious texts in the Christmas songs just so that Muslims won't be "offended" wich is ridiculous, no Muslim country would go down on their knees for a bunch of Christian kids moving there! But the point is; Israel COULD do it, if they separated religion from their government, allowing culture-lessons and language-lessons for ALL but the religious parts would remain only for those who believe in that religion. Because your country contains two main religions, you should learn to respect both! We in Europe are feeling forced to accept Muslims in our schools and they actually do melt in IF there are not too many of them in one school and IF they start from kindergarten or first class. The problem starts when they come in flocks and jump in at different ages in our schools and have to build up a "tough, scary" attitude to become accepted in an allready very European-minded culture. Much better to start this mix of culture from first class or from day-care. You have a chance to do that in Israel!!! But you are too religious to allow it!!!!

@esplin1 there was a young female youtuber in Gaza who put nice videos from Gaza on youtube even days before Oct7, she filmed from up from a penthouse balcony, it looked beautiful, also the beach was full with(welldressed) families in the evenings. After Oct7 the city took a different shape sadly . And no need to try and say "oh the war started 75years ago" because THIS war, where Gaza got destroyed and 40000 people got killed, started on Oct7.
