  1. imho, instead of purges, they should have had multiple political parties that, if needed to be constrained, be constrained only by being a communist or socialist party. In other words, Lenin, Stalin, a Russian Mao, and Trotsky would all be the leader of their own communist parties within the supreme soviet, instead of one leader getting power and expelling or killing the others. Majority or coalition would be needed to pass laws. Ideally, 5-9 parties in the supreme soviet and 2-4 parties in govt would allow for negotiation and competition for votes on the best future for the soviet union. This could even be extended to all of a global communist union.

  3. @aspid164  People are not monoliths. Not everybody wants the same thing. Not all communists, socialists, democrats, Republicans, conservatives, greens, etc want the same thing for their party respectively either. You know how many varieties of socialism and communism there are? You could have 30 different socialist and communist parties competing democratically.

  4. The DPRK is an near absolute monarchy masquerading as a socialist nation. There's a reason a national myth has built around the grandfather, the father, and the son of the Kim Dynasty. It has more in common with Czarist Russia, but with a weird homicidal vibe of Kim worship.

  6.  @thomasjamison2050  It can work now though. It already does, just with capitalist nations. The govt structure is sound though and the most protected against tyranny.
