It is very unfortunate that Singaporeans do not get the whole truth as a result of its neutrality stance. Many have not heard about Falon Gong or any other topics deemed negative/sensitive or loss of face to china.

@doesitreallymatter4744 Assumption is based on observation. Your personal views, if truly neutral, doesn't represent the general population.

@doesitreallymatter4744 Don't be too quick to judge. You have a famous prof Kishore who touted China's zero covid policy as numba 1, with so few deaths and example to the world. He has plenty of supporters. Am I to surmise nothing of it and that his avid supporters are all fake? Sometimes I have to wonder where did all the neutral voices go? Silent majority? Also I wonder what Singaporean thought of the persecution of Falon Gong, a lot claimed it as western propaganda.

@doesitreallymatter4744 You have a very good point. I'd also like to take this opportunity to point out something about chinese culture. It is known that chinese would stay out of someone's business - possibly because they don't want to bring trouble unto themselves. If you involve yourself in someone's matter it might be considered rude. However, it is one thing to see something wrong and just stay quiet and quite another to speak up. It takes courage to speak up and have your voice heard... especially when it is against humanity. This is where western culture is the strongest. Singapore is lucky that it doesn't have much of humanity problems when compared to china. If you're able to put yourself in other's shoes you might see and take things differently.

@doesitreallymatter4744 Since we're on this topic should I speak up for the bumiputeras in Malaysia as well and kick out all the capitalistic chinese? Your argument really doesn't hold water and the only thing it holds is double standards. If it is basic respect to see people of your own race being abused then so be it. Afterall, it's really none of your business and you're only after status quo and personal respectability.

@lvjinbin28 do you remember when china was supplying arms to the chinese in Malaysia and Indonesia? Let's pretend it didn't happen because they failed at it. How about do you know anything about organ harvesting in china? Have you heard of Pol pot in Cambodia? Who provided arms support? Don't seem to know your history.

@lvjinbin28 Don't assume that everyone supports US with the war in Syria, Libya, etc. I don't support the warmongers like Bush and Hillary. And neither should you support the atrocities of the ccp. Educate yourself and get good info.

It is very unfortunate that Singaporeans do not get the whole truth as a result of its neutrality stance. Many have not heard about Falon Gong or any other topics deemed negative/sensitive or loss of face to china. I feel that this piece is well balanced and nicely packaged for broad consumption. But I think the support for china on the ground is way higher in reality as I have relatives here that are completely pro china and anti-US.

@danganrompa2626 why are you so sure that china has such a lovely govt?

@danganrompa2626 A few things: 1) Look at the quality of its new buildings and infrastructure... crumbling even though it's fairly new 2) Look at its hospitals... must pay bribes 3) Look at child kidnapping problem... got security cameras at every street corner with advance face recognition but still cannot solve the problem 4) Look at gender imbalance... good intention but poor forethought 5) Look at zero covid policy - do you truly believe that's a good policy. 6) Water management - have you heard of the constant floodings from the damns and water quality in general? 7) Ghost cities - is this good urban management? 8) Falon Gong. You truly don't believe people can be so smart and yet morally disconnected that they can take your organ and sell them? Does china really care about its citizens?

@danganrompa2626 It's a wonder how one can just sweep this info off without examining or investigating. It's not hard to see if you want to dig a little deeper.
