Western world is heading in this direction with decline in population. It only takes non-productivity of citizens to create an environments of want and deficiency. Everything else is a monetary policy driven. The problem in Cuba is acute because it doesn't have productivity and trade is expensive. The system is broken to begin with and perception of freedom is a joke. The people in power is not productive, it's people don't have resources to be productive and the top hoards it all thru power and control. Normally it doesn't take much to speak up, but it's hard to do in it here. Only thing left is the country has to learn to stand up on their own feet and grab power back from the top.
