  1. I don't believe a second in US "acts of kindness" like Berlin airlift. Its aim was to keep control over West Berlin, which was in the middle or USSR occupation zone, in order to use it in the confrontation with the USSR. And the USA covertly conquered other countries. Look at "independent and sovereign" Germany, South Korea or Panama!

  2. USSR was in ruins in hunger after the WW2 while the USA had industrial boom and ate chocolate. This made the destiny of POWs better in the West as in the East, not "American kindness or moral". Besides some Nazis were cherished and well employed. Nowadays they even get standing ovations for fighting ugly Russians.
