Most Russians consider that the war with Ukraine has been made unavoidable by USA and EU. It's nice to read that you wish Russians all the best but in reality you support US governments that have been harming Russia on purpose from 1945 onwards.

@stephengrimmer35 one should learn historical facts before making conclusions. USSR was not agressive toward Germany before the WW2. It didn't shared their ideology or search a political alliance but economical relations flourished and no hostility was allowed on official level. (Don't forget that autrocities like Buchenwald or Babi-Yar happened after the 1941.) In Ukraine rusophoby was an official ideology, Russian language was extruded, Russian culture sneered at, pro-Russian politicians were imprisoned or ousted away from the country, economic relations cut. Ukraine had openly prepared itself for a war to grab back the lost territories of Crimea and Donbass. It was Ukrainian Nazis who arranged this war with the help of the West. They imagined they could win it easily against the "gas station masquerading as a country".

@JonSmith-wg8mr First of all USA killed some hundreds thousand Japanese with nukes to demonstrate USSR its military power. Then it started to influence European countries against communist governments and created big tension there. They spied on Soviets, dispersed lies, killed all leaders world wide who wanted to cooperate with the USSR ( like Lumumba), persecuted all people in USA who shared socialists or communist views (McCarthy laws), used Nazi scientist and generals in creating stronger army (the first NATO chef was the firmer Hitler's general), the helped all rioters and bloody partisans who fought against communists or socialist government worldwide (from Chili to Afghanistan), they dumped prices of Soviet goods when they could. They dispersed anti-Soviet propaganda (Empire of Evil etc). I hope that Trump opens now CIA archives and everyone learns now many milliards of dollars were spent on spying, corruption, slander and murders.

@Espesia1 I wand discuss anything with you, because you are not able to grasp the information. Your avatar in 2025 is a sign of low IQ.

@Freedom_Half_Off thank you for good wishes. Words are cheap. The incitement of that war and a million or more victims is a fact. Trump says he wants to stop the war. We will see what he DOES.

@valdisorlovskis7381 the help during WW2 was similar to help of Ukraine nowadays: help your proxies to fight for your interests and don't care how many die in the process. During Perestroika the main activity of the West was robbery of state assets, brain drain, theft of Soviet scientific knowledge etc. The USA and the EU lived 30 years at the expense of the demolished USSR. Look, how Europe declines since they cut themselves from this pipe in 2022. And they made it because they believed, as you do, in the fairy taile that they were donors not parasites.

@stephengrimmer35 The war in Ukraine started in 2014. Russia made everything to stop the bloodshed in and forced Donbass commanders (who were winning over the Ukrainian army in 2014) to accept the Minsk peace agreements. The agreements were not fulfilled by Ukrainian side, Germany and France neglected their responsibilities as the treaty guarantees. 15 000 people, hundreds of children were killed 2014 - 22 February 2022 in Donbass. End 2021 Ukraine officially announced that they won't fulfil the agreements and started to accumulate military forces along the boundaries of Donbass. Only after that Russia acknowledged Donbass republics to started to move its army towards Ukrainian border. The aim was to threaten the Ukrainian authorities and show that the war with Donbass won't be an easy play. Till the last moment Russia hoped that Ukrainian authorities would soberly assess the situation and stop their aggressive behaviour. The nationalists and the western war mongers won the political battle in Kiev. The bombardment of Donbass increased fourfold in February 2022. Russia had to act. You've never heard of the war in Donbass in 2015-2022? In January 2022 you heard about Russian army on the Ukrainian border but nothing about the 100000 Ukrainian army gathered on Donbass border? Well, continue to feed yourself with propaganda garbage.

@ChristianBranstetter this avatar means that you are misinformed, brainwashed, and hateful. It's pitiful.

@JonSmith-wg8mr Take Latvia that I know well. It's a country of 1,4 mln people. All newspapers and TV chanels are up to 90 % supported by EU or USA "charitable" organisations. All activist that have had another opinion are imprisoned or squeezed out of the country. Young members of political parties are constantly getting EU and US scholarships for political leadership programs, summer schools etc. The parties are probably also on foreign budgets. At least 15% of Latvian population have no Latvian passports and can't vote because they haven't passed the Latvian language exam that became obligatory after the "independence". Latvia (as well as Lithuania and Estonia) are constantly making russofobic statements and remind about Russian threat but this countries and their politicians are puppets of the West that have been mobilized from local ultra-nationalsts. These are new geopolitical technologies that keep afloat the narrative suitable for the rulers. Don't be naive!!

@farson67 when Ukrainian tanks rolled over a peaceful pro-Russia meeting in Mariupol in 2014 it is not an "attack" for you because these tanks didn't rolled over a boundary of the 20 year old state. When Russian soldiers took Crimea without one shot because people there were waiting for liberation and welcomed them - it's an "attack" for you because the Russian marines violated a border drawn on a map. Well, we have quite different views on human rights, dignity and common sense. I don't share yours.
1
@farson67 the war is a wrongdoing. It comes when parties can't resolute their disagreements peacefully. Look in the roots: what party did what BEFORE a war started. In the case of Russia-Ukrainian war I am convinced that Russia tried to keep the peace and Ukraine was humiliating, killing and provoking.
1
@farson67 if you follow the events you might know that Russia did everything possible that the war would not grow: stoped on the 2d day, didn't take Ukrainian flags down, withdrew its troops from Kiew region, was ready to sign the freedom agreement in Istanbul, followed Black sea arrangements in spite of Ukrainian infringements etc. Sometimes nothing helps. Nationalistic ideas + impunity of power + corruption + military help from abroad that exceed GDP is no good ground for willingness for peace
