Ukrainians are clinging to Seversk in order to remain behind fortifications they built with NATO funds in the Eastern Ukraine around DNR and LNR. Further to the West they don't have such good fortifications and they don't like to fight inside West Ukrainian towns where Ukrainian speakers live. When Ukrainians lose Donbass, for which they have no mercy, they lose the war.
