  1. The idea of parallelism is very practical. In reality, the number of companies you build into your list is a function of your industry and experience. There are many more companies hiring “software engineers” than “lead self driving car researcher” for example. But even if you’re only considering two companies, talking to them in parallel is almost always ideal.
