I have to say from watching the video, that the CVT in the new WRX is quite a bit snappier than the ones in Subaru's from just a few years ago. I drive 2020 model Outback's at work sometimes and they are horribly unresponsive in manual mode. Because of this, they also seem to accelerate better with a slower throttle application as the trans/engine combo struggles to shift and transfer power with a fast throttle application, and you end up just waiting longer for things to happen. The thing I still find odd is that while DCT cars usually outrun their manual brothers and usually have better fuel economy, the CVT seems to just merely match the manual for performance and economy. Clearly, there are more energy losses in a CVT vs a DCT. I still would prefer manual for the ability to modify and extract more power with minimal fuss/worry, probably being more reliable long term, being more fun, and in this case, being a true AWD car.

@mrvwbug44 I agree it's not as good a car, but at the end of the day the CVT in it sucks ass. A conventional auto would be much better
