  4. The calm, 'high road', 'ignore the bully and he will go away' energy of the Obama administration was wrong-headed and ineffective then, and is not what we need now. America needs Harris' "Kick the fucking door down", "You break into my house you're gonna get shot" energy. Trump is openly talking about turning troops on American citizens, rounding people up, concentration camps, and basically repeating Hitler's playbook. Harris and Walz are more than justified in getting "heated". In fact, they have an obligation to demonstrate righteous anger in the face of the Republican menace. Being placid and calm about it is to belie the very existential danger facing Americans today. I hope Harris does more of this going forward and grows more and more comfortable calling Trump and his supporters out on their bullshit in plain terms everyone understands. We need less of Biden's appeasing Neville Chamberlain and more of Harris' Churchill.

However, in broad daylight Trump and his co-conspirators have already declared their intent to oppose a Harris victory via coordinated election fraud, denialism, and by instigating acts of domestic terrorism by their radicalized followers. I hope the Biden/Harris administration is prepared to fight to prevent this disenfranchisement and defrauding of the American electorate - and will not repeat the mistake Gore made in 2000 when he prematurely ceded the election to Bush Jr. - before the count from Florida actually was revealed to make Gore the winner. And look what happened as a consequence - years of war in the Middle East based upon a lie promulgated by Republicans. This time it will be worse, if Republicans are allowed to steal the election and complete the coup they attempted on January 6th.

  8. Trump launched a coup with a mob that beat and killed Capitol Police, and still walks free. But people are still going to jail for smoking weed. Harris is right. Proportionality demands that we stop putting people in jail for marijuana possession. It is a massive waste of tax dollars, public resources, and human lives.

  9. Jesus Christ she is so much a better speaker than Hillary Clinton ever was. Far better than any president we've had in my half-century of life. She really delivers in a manner that feels off the cuff, unrehearsed, and authentic. I know she's prepped and rehearsed, but damn if its not apparent. I actually enjoy listening to her speak. Never had that experience before.

  11. I'm amazed that the biggest concern about Walz is that he is considered 'progressive'. As if being progress-oriented is a bug and not a feature. That's a huge plus in my book as it represents a big change from Republican 'conservatism' (aka "regressive"), and old-school-Boomer-Establishment-DNC neo-liberalism which is just 'conservative-lite'. The Republican party is a cancer-riddled corpse of corruption beyond redemption, and the old-School Democrat party leadership might as well be the Reagan Republicans of the 80s. The only hope for this country is the progressive branch of the Democratic party, which seems to be the only caucus that isn't ancient, weird, out of touch, and completely beholden to the investment class which has been feasting off the working and middle classes for the last 40 years.
