  1. Delve into cult culture, and you’ll see how people get sucked in. For Mike Rinder, he was brought into the fold as a child, since his parents joined. It was a way of life for him and others like him. For those who get sucked into cults as adults, there are usually a couple of goodies in the initial stages that anyone would find beneficial. The cults are tracking weaknesses during this time, and have systems set up to exploit those weaknesses. The person gets sucked in, and then “the prison of the mind” takes hold. At that point, extrication becomes difficult. If one isn’t already isolated, there is the very real threat of isolation once out of the cult. I say this from deep diving Scientology 1st, then other cults since last December. It’s a fascinating subject.

  3. This is an important book, but there are other Ex-Scientology books, from Going Clear, to Blown for Good, Fair Game, A to Xenu. The difference is how much press this book is getting.

  4. I think it would help a little, and more if EVERYONE stopped supporting the celebrities of Scientology. This is because celebrities are the Church of Scientology’s cash cows.
