  2. @ eventually, Christie got the message. Yet, even after Trump insulted the governor multiple times in the 2016 campaign, Christie somehow thought he’d end up in a cabinet position. It was Christie who coached Trump in the 2020 debates, telling the Donald to interrupt Biden as much as possible to get him stuttering and confused. He served on Trump’s transition team for 1st term. His reward? Trump pardoned J-Kush’s dad, whom Christie had put away for tax evasion, illegal campaign contributions, and witness tampering (“one of the most loathsome, disgusting crimes that [Christie] prosecuted “). The thing is , Charles Kushner didn’t even have much more time to serve; it was a deliberate middle finger from tRump to Christie. I think that’s when he finally realized that the Donald wasn’t a gonna give him any federal government position.
