  10. Yah, and back before keys, the holes were in line so flutists could play it to either side as needed. The 1st key was on foot joint, so that could be adjusted, too. Next they added holes for G# on both sides, then plugged up whatever side needed to be closed due to handedness. So, precedent is there. It’s flute convention week, so let’s keep the information flowing! 😎

I’m hoping most of Iowa finds the wherewithal to oust Ernst and Grassley, but both have war chests that are hard to combat. Then again, lots of farmers are finally getting that Trump isn’t their friend. Nicer y’all will result in more blue in the purple in 2020.

Euphoniums are kinda baby tubas, yes; their step child is the baritone. Trumpets and [French] horns are not related to tubas. All y’all saying the cello ain’t a violin need to check it. The full name is violincello, which is why you might see the name printed as ‘cello. There’s ancient history involved, and if you go back further, you’ll see those great great grandpa pies in the viol consort.

  49. Hahaha; I wondered is someone would comment on this. As a professional, all the pros I know in the US prefer flutist, flute payer, or even fluter (fluter - really? oh well ;) ) over flautist. In Italy, the flute is called "il flauto," so flutists are called un/una flautista. Spain? la flauta; un/una flautista France: la flûte; un/une flûtiste Germany: die Flöte; ein Flöteriner; eine Flöterinin. Also Flötist, which totally explains England: flute; flotist. Really, Brits? Flotist? Anyway, if you want a left handed flute, be sure to check your get your "oe" pronunciation down.
