I don't get this point. So if an abortion is done before that then it's okay?

1. If a person is brain dead, ie, will never wake up, but their heart is still beating, is that person still alive or is it okay to pull the plug? 2. Do you think cows and humans have the same SE? 3. So is it okay to pull the plug on a brain dead patient? 4. That's kind of like saying a soul is not necessary to be a person. So why is a soul necessary for person hood? SE is basically what people who aren't fundamentalists use to point out a soul existing. Since we can actually notice SE develops through neural pathways, we can then say a soul is being "created". And no, a soul isn't in the heart otherwise people with pacemakers would be seen as monsters.

@brittaho2098 that's interesting. so if a woman eats food that can cause a miscarriage, is that acceptable since it is not intervening to stop a natural process? after all, miscarriages are a natural occurrence either way, it seems you noticed it is acceptable to "end" a brain damaged person per them not having sentience. so since a fetus has no sentience or has even developed the capacity for it, why is it wrong to terminate it? you can assume it is done through natural means instead of surgical ones if you wish
1
@brittaho2098 I don't understand your point. Are you trying to say that naturally inducing an abortion is okay because it's not a surgery, ie, not natural?
1
@brittaho2098 interestingly, that doesn't change my question since you seem to imply the intention to unplug a brain dead individual is the same as getting an abortion (body and fetus are both functionally braindead after all). So if the intent is the same and is done by "natural" means, does that make abortion acceptable?
1
@brittaho2098 I mean eating is about as natural as it gets so eating sushi or spices after having sex seems like a fairly "natural" way to get a spontaneous abortion. And you don't even know if you're pregnant at that point
1
@brittaho2098 "I don't think a fetus having brain functioning or not has anything to do with my argument." yes it does. why else do you think its acceptable to terminate a brain dead individual? certainly not because its "natural" since its definitely "natural" for an abortion to happen because of your diet (something you clearly oppose even when the person can't confirm if they're pregnant). since you are aware there's a difference between a sentient person and a brain dead one, then reason states you are aware there's a difference between a fetus and a healthy child. after all, only one of them has a functioning brain.

@mozzarellatherat9687 no the other guy has a point. If a person is afraid of having a child due to the responsibility it brings whereupon you immediately say "tough sh*t", then it's pretty clear you guys think being a parent is a punishment for "spreading your legs"

"an unborn child is a member of the human species that is not born yet" this is so flawed it actually makes my head hurt. is she implying children exist before babies? are unborn babies different from unborn children? is a zygote synonymous with unborn child?
