It's difficult because you're trying to balance the safety of people and follow rules, while at the same time it does take away the right of folks to freely protest (whether you disagree with it or not) damn if you, damn if you don't the situation with the met police in this case. No one wants to keep people indoors for eternity, we just want fewer people in hospital over covid 19, this disease is causing issues for people who are already suffering from cancer, mental health issues and various other diseases, that is why sometimes (tough as it may be) some form of lockdown must happen if people refuse to abide by the rules (even if they're protesting) Many of those people who are protesting (I bet) haven't got their first dose of the vaccine and refuse to do so because they believe in pseudo-science.
