@garry69696
10 times less? You can buy Tesla for 40k, are you saying that you could buy new car for 4k with same features Tesla offers?...
And while BEV battery fires are dangerous, those are generally slow, so if we would talk about car crashes then you will have plenty of time to get out of your car, with hydrogen cars, well, if that tank raptures and you get a spark, well... It will vaporize you in few milliseconds, so i guess its a better way to die...
And you will be paying crap ton more for everything, this is why currently some car companies selling hydrogen cars gives 15k on fuel as a bonus. Why do you think this is the case? Because it will cost you crap ton of money... Mirai, hydrogen car, has like 400 mile range, has 5kg tank, while one kg can be around 20-35 bucks, so you are looking at 100-160 bucks per 400 miles. Now check it with BEV's... That price will go down to like 30 bucks if you used superchargers, less if you charged at home. Do you see potential long term issue here?...
Then add exponentially higher maintenance costs...
And just FYI Toyota Mirai starts at 50k, so its initial price is higher than BEV's, its fuel more expensive, its maintenance is higher... So stop dreaming about something what isint real.

@piero17sb
Much lower in infrastructure? Are you sure about that?... Because it's the most expensive infrastructure for any type of fuel out there... No cheapest, but most expensive one.
Maintenance cost will be high too, as for example every single hydrogen tank has expiration dates printed on them, yes, not by mile driver, but by time. And due to how corrosive hydrogen can be in general you will be paying big bucks to keep that car running.
Main waste from hydrogen cars is production of hydrogen and it needs crap ton of energy.
This "real" car will be as popular as Blackberry was with its physical keyboard. Hardly anyone even remembers that company anymore... Times change, we don't need cars which can be heard from 10 blocks away just because YOU want to hear that sound. If you do want that sound, then buy a video game, put on headset, turn volume to 150% and enjoy it.
Hydrogen cars will not be a thing, and I'm not even talking about combustion ones, I'm talking about the more practical fuel cell ones which are the only ones being produces, and for good reason. Hydrogen is already extra expensive and going with 2x (at minimum) the cost is just insanity even if you like the sound.

@Resomius
I would be more than happy if hydrogen worked as viable option, sadly more you read about it less viable it becomes in your eyes. It's just surrounded by soooooo many issues that it's ridiculous. Like for example one of the biggest issues is hydrogen embrittlement, basically metals in contact with hydrogen will lose their structural integrity over time, this is why all hydrogen tanks in cars have expiration date printed on them, which is like 5-7 years.
Powering your car with fuel produced from water sounds extremely good, this is why news papers usually put titles like "car powered by water" or something nonsensical like that. But it just doesn't work.
Best case would be to use it for bigger equipments, like ships, planes, trains, semi, which would have their own dedicated refueling stations with production plants near them and have their own in house repair to lower costs of maintenance, but its non starter for regular passenger cars.
