They might have wanted to cause flood but on allot smaller scale, just enough to flood which would prevent Ukraine advance and they screwed that up and entier dam crumbled releasing all of its water in one go. its not like Russia is know with their smart soldiers or something...

  5. NPP is working at 33% at this moment, there is enough water in that reservoir to keep it safe for quite some time even without refilling it with pumps. So if "accident" happens it was done by Russians.

  22.  @divermike8943  I was afraid of situation like this like a year ago when this war went sideways for the Russians. They could start meltdown on NPP and use that as excuse to withdraw and end this war without actually losing it. I hope I'm wrong here.
