Question of the day: where exactly is terrorist attacks stand in?... You have over 140k deaths by stroke each year and only ~50 deaths by terrorist attacks. You always see "Breaking news" about even attempt in terrorist attack, but you will never see breaking news about some one dying from a stroke... If this is your criteria, then stop talking about terrorists and concentrate about strokes. If not, then your comment is bullshit. Pick one, both will make you look silly :)

I'm simply pointing out that you want gun to protect yourself from exactly same person who got gun protect himself from some one like you who got a gun to protect himself. Its snow ball effect. You got gun because your neighbor got a gun, and your neighbor got a gun because his neighbor got a gun and so on and on and on.

TheBookWorm1718 Issue is that people like abusive husbands can get hands on guns without any trouble what will lead to shooting sooner or later. More guns will always lead to more shootings, yes some one may need protection, but... If you give easy access to guns for everyone, you are giving access to guns for everyone, including abusive husbands. Should you have a right to own gun? Yes. Should it be hard to get? Yes. Currently it looks like you could have gun vending machine with current laws, put in quarter and get ak-47...

TheBookWorm1718 So lets see facts. Does gun shops perform background checks? Yes. Ok, that's cool. But... You have so called "gun shows" where you don't need any background checks to buy a gun. And you don't need background checks when you buy a gun from second hand. And i'm not even talking about situations when guns are being stolen. And i'm not talking about situations when you can have 0 criminal records on you, but you are going to buy gun for one... And what more funny that you can buy automatic rifle at age 18 while beer is been sold only from 21... Isint this slightly backwards?...

That or many other shootings could be prevented before it even happen if getting guns would be allot harder and with normal background checks. You want guns to protect yourself from people with guns. Do you see irony here? More guns you have in circulation, bigger chance for some one with mental illness or bad intentions to get hands on one of them, and that will lead in multiple deaths. "That is what your saying right now." What i'm saying that you need allot more strict laws for owning guns, allot better background check, no open carry nonsense and so on. Us has most guns per capita in entire world and one of most loose laws for owning guns and it has most mass shootings in a world. Those things have connection you know... If you have person with mental issues and he has access to a gun, you will have bunch of dead people, this is simple reality you choose to ignore for some strange reason.

Hi Bye Allot more strict background checks. No gun reselling without changing registration who owns a gun which should include same strict background check. And flipping hell, not semi-automatic purchases before age of like 25... Its should be: beer - 21, hand guns - 23, semi automatic - 25. Not a way around. Just look at other countries and what they have in place for gun ownership and background checks. Its not like you need to invent bicycle, just use existing and successful methods already present some where else.

Hi Bye If you can buy a gun without background checks or official registration, then anybody can get hands on one. Background check is not equal to background check. In other countries this means full check with psychological evaluation and you need to have good reason for owning a gun. Analogy would be: buying a pack of gum and buy a car. One requires only your money, other requires you to have drivers license, official registration and so on. US laws is that pack of gums, in my country its in level of buying car by that analogy. You can still get a gun, but you will have to go throw allot more checks before you can get one. And on another side we still have issue with people himself. How often do you hear that some one shot some one because they had suspicion of something? Often enough. While in my country it just doesn't happen, ofcorse its for 2 reasons, different attitude for others and obvious reason, guns are not a common thing.

Hi Bye So we back to that "Make guns accessible throw vending machines as i will need to shoot some one". What would be less likely to happen: teenager imports guns from different country illegally or teenager buys a gun legally in local gun shop?

Hi Bye You are not getting my point... Like at all... Simpler methods in getting guns for good people makes simpler methods for getting guns for bad people... Do you have technology which would separate good person from bad one before buying gun? I don't thinks so... And more guns in homes will increase accidents, children will more often take it without permission or some one will steal it and use it. Increasing gun amount will only increase shooting count. This is simple connection between them. "Just like I said what would you do if your in your house alone and a bad guy comes in with a gun what will you do" And from where did he got his gun? In gun shop around the corner... "So I bet you if we stop bullying then there will be less shootings" Well yes, this is one part of all that huge problem with US and constant shootings. Its people attitude towards others. That would lower shooting amount, but to prevent bullying is 1 000 000 harder than implementing more strict gun laws. And you know what, we had in my school bullying, guess how many shooting did we had... In entire country... None... Guess how many we would have if kids who have been bullied had access to guns... "What would you do if a bad gun comes into your house and he has a gun and you don’t?" So that means i need to buy a tank! But in case he has javelin, i need something more serious, maybe automatic turrets around my house to shoot anything who enters territory! Mine field would be nice too. And maybe in worst case scenario, nuke in basement, just to threaten to blow up everything if they try to come in! Where is that limit? More guns to protect from more guns?... Should you need a gun to protect from some one with a gun. Yes. Fine. But that was not my point entire conversation... That person who tries to rob you, got his gun from local dealer, legally or not. But when you have millions of guns circulating around, its really simple to get hands on one of them.
