@johnyohann6946 No it doesn't. Socialism and communism are one and the same. Socialism opposes the free market and the middle class. It supports government or some other centralized authority control of the production means.

@ishitunot5152 Only because it adopted capitalism in the early 1980's to avoid the fate of its fellow communist neighbors, Cambodia and North Korea.

@ishitunot5152 True. It may have adopted capitalism to get its economy going, but it's still very much socialist to the core as the state still controls the economy and just about everything else. Even Marx and Lenin admitted that capitalism is the better system in the end as socialism/communism on its own is not a revenue-generator.
