Why should they?

@digitalrandomart3049 What taxpayer money? The funding for Egypt's vanity projects comes from outsiders. In Egypt, the government and military are the rich people.
2
And before the 1980's, Toronto was playing 2nd fiddle to Montreal.

My city of Montreal already did that only for the Mayor to admit that developers would much rather pay a fine than set aside a percentage of their new builds for affordable housing. Needless to say no set-asides were made.
2
Except South Asians.
2
@bobbbxxx But the average New Yorker earns double what the average earns on top of being a top 5 world financial center. NYC can justify its high cost of living.

1
50% of whom pay next to no income tax whatsoever.
1
Financed by China.
1
LOL @ Dubai.
1
Which is the Chinese way of colonizing other countries.
1
Egypt has welfare for food.
1
@AL-lh2ht Pretty much.
1
@elimlinrr6898 But they didn't force countries to take the loan.
1
As if the people had any power to begin with.
1
Because the video is about largest cities in the world in terms of metro area population.
1
Yet it's the US and Europe taking some of the biggest hits.
1
They were not made for that market. They were made for the well-to-do.
1
<China’s 1 child policy has completely failed...> Which is why they ditched it in 2017.
1
Due to zoning laws and bureaucracy, those are the only high-density housing developers are legally allowed to build within city limits.
1
<US putting most taxes towards military. > Which in turn keeps Canada safe from Russia.
1
@oussematrabelsi9429 That's because most American cities have a lot of land to work with.
1
Not really.
1
And neither is less and less people especially if they don't reproduce enough to replace themselves once they become too old.
1
<It will stop all this unoccupied property and foreign owners buying it up as investment, make more property available on the renting market,> Government intervention has made property less available on the renting market.
1
But Toronto has way more land to build on than Montreal.
1
<Most areas in the world unfortunately do not care about taking care of the common man anymore.> What do you mean anymore? Most areas in the world never cared for the common man in the first place unless it was for political gain.
1
Just like Vancouver.
1
Starting with your first. LOL. According to who?
1
Mother Earth doesn't need any saving.
1

1
Requiring environment-destroying lithium to make the batteries they operate on.
1
Have you visited the "projects?"
1
But those cities are revenue-generators which is why people flock to them in the first place along with national governments devoting most of their countries' resources to propping them up. <To our nature all these cities are dead zones and big polluters.> Our or really just your?
