  1.  @earrth911  China didn't start prospering until after Mao died and Deng implemented capitalist reforms to save China from yet another mass starvation and collapse. And also Clinton's shipping out America's manufacturing jobs there.

  3.  @CoolGobyFish  Until it ran out of other people's money in the case of the Eastern Bloc as they were Soviet client states with barely an economy of their own. And the USSR didn't see much prosperity until Khrushchev ran the show.
