Whoever made less than $39K in the past calendar year.
2
The double rebate is coming November 4th.
2
1000 per month? That was my 2003 net monthly salary.
2
It's confirmed now?
2
But Canada doesn't have the stomach for that.
2
Exactly.
2
Only if you have made less than $20K as a single ($35K as a family) in the past year. Quebec's payout earlier this year better.
2
Namely Eastern Canada.
2
@dano3952 So did Pol Pot in Cambodia.
2
@alexguolo5872 Namely ultra-rich foreigners.
2
Pretty much.
2
<and let the boomers who didn't bother to have kids live with the consequences,> Agreed.
2
Be a meth-head.
2
@cindyhaduik7171 But it comes up to $27K at the bare minimum. You have to be a part-time worker or miss a lot of work to make $24K a year.
2
Inflation is caused by governments.
2
Only to bankrupt the employer putting individuals out of work which in turn means loss of tax revenue.
2
$233.50 to be exact.
2
LOL. No they won't.
2
11:56 All leftist organizations. Unions and the public sector.
2
@wiseman4160 Due to supply restrictions by the (municipal) government.
2
Until it isn't when there are no more high-income Canadians to tax.
2
@kellyevans207 If they haven't got taxed and regulated to poverty first.
2
Because the average person is too ignorant and impressionable to be allowed to vote. Look little further than Venezuela or South Africa to see what universal suffrage can do to a country.
2
That's the left-wing way.
2
They have. It's just that they're in a much higher tax bracket. $650/year is chump change for them.
2
If you and your spouse make $63K or higher combined, I guess that's the reason you're not eligible for the credit.
2
It was the Liberals under Chretien that officially terminated all investment in social housing.

@derekrank4572 How do you expect landlords to lower the rent in the face of higher property taxes, insurance costs, etc? And small businesses to pay bigger wages in the face of rising operating costs and stagnant revenues?
1
@methatguy5996 Venezuela. That free money from oil Chavez handed out helped destroy whatever private sector and local industry it had having to rely on imports to feed itself.
1
@rigg4146 It was redistributed all right. Namely to Party elites.
1
@methatguy5996 <but they're not a failed country.> Thanks to Deng's capitalist reforms in the 80's and Clinton's outsourcing of US manufacturing jobs on the 90's.
1
@methatguy5996 No. The UBI helped undermine the local economy and industry. <The fact is Norway and Finland are the closest thing this planet has ever seen to a UBI, and they're doing just fine.> Was it implemented nationwide? Or was it just implemented on a handful of people as was the case with Finland?
1
His GTA supporters.
1
That money has to come from somewhere to pay for all the bureaucracy required to meet Canadians' needs.
1
Exactly.
1
Maybe if the government didn't jack up the taxes and regulations that compelled said greedy corporations to price necessities out of control.
1
@silverstonemalik440 You're getting the regular rate in January.
1
@derekrank4572 You sure about that? Because 38 million Canadians @ $450 000 = $17.1 trillion. Our current GDP is just $1.643 trillion.
1
@russellmatthews Which will be November 4th. On the CRA website, it say it's going to be a one-time payout.
1
@User70U Yes it is as it's not the landlords' fault we don't have the skills or aptitude for anything better than minimum wage and are too proud to consider moving or having roommates to help split the costs. and can't manage the money we do have to afford whatever they're charging. At the end of the day, hosing and living in the (desirable part of the) city is a privilege.
1
OUCH!
1
Maybe if they weren't so legally restricted on what they can build.
1
Libs = wannabe communists.
1
But governments are responsible for inflation and bureaucracy that enable corporate price-gouging.
1
<it will only benefit Globalists and Foreign Corporations who couldn't care less about Canada!> And why should they? Even Canadians themselves couldn't care less about Canada.
1
You have to have made less than $20K gross to qualify. Unless you were a pensioner, social assistance-recipient or a part-time worker, you can forget about that.
1
Exactly.
1
<and if they haven’t paid it back and I believe there is interest added on that, > Only if after a certain amount of time, it still hasn't been paid off. <so they won’t even get this $500 or any further GST until they do pay back the Surb!> That's just how it goes when you owe the government.
1
@derekrank4572 Rents are never going to be lowered in the face of rising mortgages, utility costs, repair/renovation/maintenance costs and property taxes unless you like to see Canada become one giant slum.
1
Yes.
